Bordered by Robson Street to the north and False Creek to the south, Yaletown is one of Vancouver’s choicest neighbourhoods. Fun fact: Yaletown used to be the Western terminus for the Canadian Pacific Railway. Most of the old railway yards and warehouses have been redeveloped into residential condos, office buildings, restaurants and beautiful parks since then. What makes Yaletown’s residential buildings unique is that because many of them were warehouse conversions, a lot of them retained those heavy timber, red brick and concrete exteriors from the past. The newer glass office buildings infuse the neighbourhood with a modern touch.

Some residential condos here have an old world charm to them, while others are quite new, built in the 1980s and 1990s. The Hamilton is probably the most famous heritage warehouse conversion building here. A lot of the newer high rise condos have stunning views of False Creek and Granville Island. The busiest streets in the area are Homer, Hamilton and Mainland Street, and this is where you can find most of the entertainment in the area, such luxe lounges, nightclubs, breweries and pubs. This neighbourhood has a waler score of 96!

This would be perfect for those who want to be in a lively and exciting area, but also be close to the water and pretty scenery. You can catch people walking, jogging or biking along the famous False Creek seawall at any time of the day. It is also incredibly convenient to grab a bite or a drink with friends after work or on the weekends as there is no shortage of both casual and upscale restaurants and bars nearby. You can find lots of boutique fashion stores here, and if that isn’t enough, Robson Street and Nordstrom are only a couple blocks away. The Roundhouse Community Centre is the community’s go-to recreational centre, where you can find programs for all ages, volunteer opportunities, and room rentals for meetings and events. There are also two beautiful green parks in the area, George Wainborn Park and David Lam Park, where you can find children playing soccer, frisbee or flying kites on the weekends. There are also two full-sized basketball courts and a tennis court!
